A female indicted with harassing Kate McCann allegedly deposited her a recorded message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who a jury heard has repeatedly asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges accused with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and data retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most publicized investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate phone message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am she? What happens next? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The tribunal was informed that via emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a attempt to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the data, informed the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.
